Gillman Barracks celebrates its fourth anniversary this weekend with a multitude of open house events. Its signature Art After Dark event will be on this Friday evening on 23 September, while Art Day Out! will continue with the festivities on Saturday afternoon 24 September. Exhibition opening nights will be on at many galleries on Friday evening so if you fancy some gallery hopping then here are some that you should not miss: Medi, a solo exhibition by Japanese artist Takao Minami at Ota Fine Arts; The Dynamics a group exhibition featuring a range of multi-media artworks at ShanghART Gallery; Fragility of the Self , a solo exhibition of photography works by emerging Thai artist Kamolpan Chotvichai at the Sundaram Tagore Gallery and IN THE LOOP by Thai artist Jittagarn Kaewtinkoy at the Yavuz Gallery. Gillman Barracks will also host two exhibitions from the 5th Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF). Roger Ballen’s Menagerie is an exhibition by the critically acclaimed South African photographer, who is exhibiting for the first time in Southeast Asia while Origin is the 4th edition of the Tokyo International Photography Competition Winners’ Exhibition, which features works by 8 photographers from around the world exploring the notion of ‘origin’.
